New Church's One Year Anniversary!
Agape House New Testament Church is celebrating one year of God's favor this month! Launched September 9th 2007, the church has grown to an average Sunday attendance of 350 people in its first year. Praise God for the many souls that have been won to Christ, and for the growth in the lives of our members. Tremendous inroads have been made into the local college campuses, and we now have a thriving young adult and campus ministry. Pray for our anniversary service on Sunday September 14th that the Lord will use this occasion to remind us of His call and vision for the church. Ask the Lord to anoint our members as they invite family, friends, and associates to the service - and pray that many lost souls will surrender to Christ. Pray for God's continued blessings on the church and that He will raise it up as a beacon of light in the city of Accra.
Teens in Transition
Several of our older teens from the Agape Children's Home are taking the next step in their transition to adulthood. Please pray especially for Mary, Paulina, and Evans as they move out of ACH this month. Ask the Lord to watch over them and keep them strong in their Christian walk. Pray also for Evans, Sam, and Konjoh as they look for jobs. This is an important time in the lives of our kids in transition, so please pray earnestly for God to guide them in their decisions and guard them from temptation.
Set Free
Pastor Gord Whyte from New Life Church in Kelowna, BC, Canada will be leading a ministry team in a visit to AGM September 28th to October 6th. Pastor Whyte and his team will be conducting two "Set Free" seminars to minister God's love to the hurting and oppressed. Pray for God to draw the needy to these vital meetings. Intercede for those who come, that the Lord will minister His love and grace to them and that the brokenhearted will be healed. Ask the Lord to give the ministry team wisdom and strength and that they will be led by the Holy Spirit each session so that many will truly be set free.
Back to School
It's back to school at the Agape Academy - and this term we're running classes for all the children at ACH from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Donna has worked so hard to make this expansion a reality. Pray that the Lord strengthens her and replenishes her today! Please also pray for this school year to go smoothly and for the Lord's peace to fill each classroom. Praise God that He has brought us a wonderful set of teachers and staff. Ask the Lord to fill our last remaining vacancy and send us a second grade teacher. (Any volunteers out there?) Pray for each of the children in the school, that they will develop a love for learning and that they will lose any fear or insecurity they might have about their ability to learn. So many of our children have been made to feel inferior due to the loss of their parents - ask God to come alongside them and help them to realize their full potential in Christ.
