Join Us Concert a Success

JOIN US

Praise God for a mighty harvest of souls won to Christ! This last month has been a great time of soul winning as AGM went to the streets to preach the Gospel. In June, our new church in East Legon held a three day evangelistic program in the community of La Bawaleshie. The event, called a "Join Us Concert" presented the Gospel through drama, dance, music, and preaching. Hundreds flooded the altar each night as people hungry for God responded to our invitation to surrender to Jesus. The following Sunday, 100 first time visitors attended our services. Everyone received books and Christian literature to help them grow in their faith. This was our most successful "Join Us Concert" to date, and left us eagerly planning for the next outreach.

National Youth Rally

youth rally

July 1 was Republic Day in Ghana, and AGM joined with thousands of Christian youth for the National Youth Rally at Independence Square in downtown Accra. Our very own Glorious Dance team stirred the crowd as they performed "Behold the Lamb". Rick was privileged to be the main speaker for the event, and God's anointing was evident in the message. What a thrill it was to see around 1000 youth and adults praying at the altar to surrender to Jesus. Many came running to the altar when Rick gave the invitation!

Please pray for the new converts from La Bawaleshie and from the National Youth Rally, that God would strengthen them in their faith and continue to pour out His Spirit upon their lives. Ask God to guide us in our follow-up efforts, and pray that these souls will grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

Kelvin Amuzu

Kelvin

Kelvin Amuzu was at the point of death when an AGM employee who lives in his community alerted our Children's Home about his plight. The two-year-old boy had been severely neglected and abused by his mother and step-father. He was often left outside in the pouring rain crying, and was malnourished which led to stunted growth. When we met Kelvin, his leg had been badly broken and left untreated for over a week. He has scars on his body and fear in his eyes. But with God's intervention, Kelvin also now has a new hope in life.

Kelvin is our newest resident at the Agape Children's Home. Surrounded by love and treated with food, medical care, and shelter, Kelvin is already showing great improvement. Though our Home is reserved for children without any parents, Kelvin's condition was so desperate we made an exception in his case and admitted him to ACH. Please pray for Kelvin, that God's love will wipe away the years of abuse and restore child-like joy and faith to his heart. Ask God to heal his leg so that he can one day run and play with the other kids. And pray for God's provision for ACH so that we might be able to continue to rescue and redeem Ghana's children at risk.

Winning the lost...discipling believers...rescuing children at risk: this is the heart of Agape Gospel Mission. It's the vision that has kept us on the frontlines of God's work in Africa for the past 25 years. It's a vision we intend to keep pursuing as long as we live.

But vision can't pay the bills - for that, we need the support of others who share our heart for Africa. Right now, our income is at its lowest point in three years. While our needs have greatly increased, our support has dropped. Please pray with us for God's intervention and miraculous provision. And, please consider being an instrument God can use to answer those same prayers. Your support is so vital to us this summer! Together, we can continue reaching the lost and rescuing children like Kelvin.
