Glory 2010!
In prayer for this year, the Lord gave me a one word theme for 2010: Glory. Isaiah 60:1 says, "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you." Though I am still meditating on this verse and the implications of "glory", God has begun to reveal to me a small portion of the depth of this verse. Verse 2 continues: "See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you." Spiritual darkness does indeed fill the earth today, and the depth of deception and blindness is getting deeper worldwide. Yet, He has called us, His people, to penetrate the night with His light and glory. When His glory rises on us and appears over us, "nations will come to our light" (verse 3). What an awesome privilege we have to be bearers of His glory!

Christ in you, the hope of glory
We can't pierce the darkness through our own efforts - but no night can withstand the presence of His glory. If we will die to self and make way for His presence in our lives then we can impact this generation with His glory. It is only "Christ in us, the hope of glory" that can make such an impact. May we all "arise" to the challenge and let His light shine from us.
