25 Years in Africa!

February 14th marks a milestone in our ministry as we celebrate 25 years of service to the Lord in Africa! All glory goes to God, for it is only His grace that has made this possible. Please join us in thanking the Lord for all that He has done over the years. Ask God to help us work smarter and maximize our time and energy so that we might leave a strong and lasting legacy in West Africa.

We are praying that the many leaders God has given to us will continue to catch the vision and take up the mantle of the work. Ask the Lord to make our latter years more glorious and fruitful than our early years. The best is yet to come!

Satellite Church in Madina

Praise God for the phenomenal growth of Agape House New Testament Church! Since the launch in September 2007, new visitors have been coming each week - and they are hungry for the Word of God! Due to this hunger, Agape House New Testament Church is opening its first satellite branch in February. The new branch will be located at Madina, a suburb of Accra that is known for its busy market area and Muslim population. We will be holding an outreach in February to help launch the new location. Biblical teaching will be held on Wednesdays, and prayer services will be held every Friday.

Pray that the spirit of Islam will be broken in the region and thousands will come to Christ! We are asking God for breakthroughs in every area and for God's Word to go forth in power to break all oppressive yokes. Ask for strength and wisdom to be upon the leadership, and for the Gospel to reach every person that can be reached in Madina.

Agape Liberia

The Agape Church in Liberia launched on March 17, 1994 with 43 people in attendance. Today their congregation has grown to nearly 550 active worshippers. The tremendous growth in the face of opposition created the need for more space for the growing congregation. Praise God that a new church building has been built, and will be dedicated on Sunday, February 17th. I (Rick) will be traveling to Liberia to preach at the dedication service.

Please lift me up in prayer for safe travels and that I will bring a word from the Lord. Intercede for the church that the Holy Spirit will fill the people in Agape Liberia with renewed zeal and love. Ask God to anoint the ministers and to bring in a great harvest of souls in this church.

There is still great poverty and hardship in Liberia: ask the Lord to meet every need both for the church and the pastors and members.

TV School of the Bible is Coming to the Air

Millions of people in West Africa have been blessed by our weekly TV School of the Bible, a half-hour broadcast of systematic Bible teaching. We will soon start filming our NEW SERIES entitled, "The Blessed Life." These 13 lessons on the Beatitudes are designed to not only teach believers, but to reach the lost as well. Please join us in prayer for the production to go smoothly, and for the Lord's anointing to be with us in the studio. Ask God to bless the teaching from this show so that it reaches millions and changes lives for eternity. Pray for all the people who will watch to be convicted of sin and convinced of God's grace. Ask God to save the lost and grow His Church through the teaching of TV School of the Bible.

Visiting Team from North Central University

An 11 member team of college students from North Central University is coming to minister with AGM March 1 - 8. Two outreach events are planned during their stay: one will be in a Muslim market area of Madina, and the other will be at the IPS college campus. These two events are called JOIN US concerts and will feature music, praise dance, drama, preaching and evangelism. Please pray for the AGM staff to have wisdom throughout all the preparations for this week. Lift up the team to the Lord as they prepare to minister in a new and challenging environment. Ask God to save many souls during these outreaches, and to give confirmation to any students who may feel called to a career in missions.

Day of Prayer & Fasting

Praise God for a wonderful time in prayer and fasting on Friday, January 18th, 2008! 130 members of Agape Gospel Mission (pastors, staff, and students) gathered at the Agape Children’s Home at Oyarifa, Ghana to spend “A Day in His Presence." We worshipped, prayed, and sought the Lord from 9 am to 4 pm. The presence of the Lord was very sweet and we’re sure He heard our prayers. Thanks to all who joined us from around the world throughout the day in various locations. We pray you were also inspired and encouraged in Christ.

Upcoming Prayer Gatherings at AGM:

“Times of Refreshing” – Revival prayer and fasting from 9 am to 4 pm GMT Saturday, January 26th, 2008. “Times of Refreshing” occurs the last Saturday of every month.

“Atmosphere of Faith” – Tuesday,January 22nd from 6:30 to 7:30 GMT and every third Tuesday of the month.

Prayer Warriors annual retreat – Monday, January 28th through Friday, February 1st, 2008. AGM Prayer Warriors will head to the Prayer Camp for a week secluded in His throne room.
