Crime Wave Hits East Legon
In the last few weeks, numerous armed robberies have occurred in our community of East Legon. Two American missionary families were attacked in their homes by a gang of men drunk and high on drugs and armed with guns. Last week, one of our employees was robbed at knife point on his way home from work. Please pray for the safety of our family and our workers, as well as other missionaries here in East Legon.
Friend Day
Praise God for the success of our recent "Friend Day" outreach at our Agape House New Testament Church. Over 760 people attended our Sunday morning service on Friend Day, with over 250 joining us for the first time. Hundreds responded to the altar call to surrender their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and to become a friend of God. Over the last few weeks since then, an amazing sense of conviction of sin has settled on people. We see signs of genuine spiritual awakening and revival at our church!
Please intercede for these precious souls that the Holy Spirit will continue to move mightily in their lives and bring them to a solid walk with God. Our goal is to make fully devoted disciples of Christ, not just decisions. Ask the Lord to pour out more of His power and presence in our services and to continue to touch the unsaved in our community and on the nearby college campuses.
Academy Construction Update
Thank God for the many generous donors who've given sacrificially towards our Agape Academy building project. The steel for the building is on site, and we have approximately $60,000 on hand for construction. We had hoped to break ground this Spring, but in prayer we felt led by the Lord to postpone the start of construction until we have more funds available. We are committed to building debt-free, and believe we should have at least half of the money on hand before starting the work. We have complete peace about waiting, and trust that God will supply in His time. Please pray for more funds to be donated to this important project: specifically that we will receive an additional $105,000 to enable us to begin construction. Ask God to give us generous donors who will supply for this need liberally. Ask God to give all of us grace to continue to educate the children in our temporary quarters. Pray that our obedience to God will result in a faith-building testimony to all of our staff and children.
Spiritual Warfare
The enemy is not unaware of the great things God is doing in Agape Gospel Mission, and we have sensed a greater spiritual warfare over the last few months. This is the time we need all our friends to engage in spiritual battle and stand in faith for Christ's victory to be manifest in our ministry every day. Please join us in binding satan and his forces in Jesus' name. Ask the Lord to deliver us from unfaithful and deceitful men. Pray for God's peace to fill us and for His hand to protect us and shelter us from the plans of the enemy. The triumph of Jesus on the Cross has won for us authority and dominion: in His name we shall overcome!
