In Loving Memory

Skip Whitcomb

Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints."

On March 20th, Rick's Dad, Rev. R.A. "Skip" Whitcomb, went home to be with the Lord. Words cannot express the magnitude of our loss; nevertheless, we rejoice that Dad is now in the presence of the Lord he loved so much and served so faithfully.

Dad Whitcomb was a pillar in the ministry of Agape Gospel Mission. He was a founding Board member, and was Board member Emeritus at the time of his passing. For many years he served AGM by assisting Mom Whitcomb in running our US office. He worked tirelessly to promote the vision of AGM, and inspired us to total commitment to Christ and His Kingdom. His constant encouragement, daily prayers, and boundless enthusiasm will be sorely missed.

Your prayers and intercession for our family at this time of loss would be greatly appreciated.

In recognition of Dad's service to AGM, we have established the R.A. Whitcomb Memorial Scholarship Fund to assist in training African pastors for the ministry. To donate to this fund, please click here.

Something Special

AHNTC Worship

We are witnessing a special move of God at Agape House New Testament Church. Launched just six months ago, the church is growing rapidly and is experiencing God's blessing in outreach and worship services. On Easter Sunday we had over 400 in attendance. We are presently preparing to launch a second Sunday morning worship service, and are prayerfully planning new outreaches in the coming months. Please pray for God's continued favor and anointing on Agape House New Testament Church. Ask God to bless our leadership and members with unity, wisdom, and faith to fulfill our destiny as a congregation. Intercede for a great harvest of souls to come to Christ through the church. Pray for God's financial provision to carry out the vision, and to provide a permanent building for our services. To visit the church website, click here.

Academy Building Update

Excitement is building as we continue to take steps towards construction of the Agape Academy building! Praise God for the generous support received from God's people so far for this vital project - over 15% of the funds needed have already been received. Please continue to pray that God will guide all our decisions and bless the planning and preparation stages. Intercede for the financial provision to cover the entire cost of the building and furnishings. Ask God's blessing on AGM missionary Tom Newell as he steps in as Project Manager. Pray that the Lord will bring together all the workers and volunteers we need to complete the building in a timely and efficient manner.

Visiting Teams

Petra Team

Praise God for the Petra Mission team that served with AGM in Ghana March 11-27, 2008. Paul and Marilyn Charles commented on their experience:

"Interacting with the children and staff while working on different maintenance projects brought a lot of joy to us. We were able to make 13 screen doors, 5 large bulletin boards, fixed numerous doors, hung many curtain rods, uncovered some answers to the water needs, tutored a number of children, measured/weighed all of the children, shortened 40 sheets, made 6 curtains, taught the aunties some beginner computer skills and oversaw the children when writing sponsor letters! The time we spent with the children and staff of Agape as well as the missionary families has impacted us in ways that left an unforgettable mark on each of our lives!"

Please lift up in prayer the other individuals and teams coming to serve with AGM this year.
